Almost 26 years ago this week, I opened my apartment door to my blind date – a mullet haired, high top wearing, hunk of a guy who did donuts in the snow on our way to the roller skating rink. As I removed my penny loafers (yes, they had pennies in them), straightened my collar and slid my shaking legs into my skates, I tried to remember how to skate. My adventurous date knew all the skating tricks and basically “had” to hold my hand all night to keep me off the floor. I must have been more impressive than I felt, because skating and mullets were the first of many surprises over more than a quarter of a century!
A new year brings excitement to try new things. What could you do this year that might make a difference in your life in 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or 26 years? It may not start out easy, but if you find a good partner to hold your hand, it can result in the most wonderful choice.
We started WC Jerky 14 years ago on shaking legs, but hand in hand, and it has resulted in great personal growth and reward, starting with a recipe and a building design on the back of a napkin. However, we owe our success to our many wonderful customers and friends who tried something new 3 months, 1 year, or up to 14 years ago. We have been part of your road trips, delicious lunches, hunting trips, post-workout recovery, and favorite snacking. We are thrilled to join you on your adventures this year as you continue to embrace the unexpected!
